The Women Studies Centre at the Govt. College of Education (GCoE), Srinagar, in a joint venture with the White Globe Organization and with the support from UNS, conducted a vibrant event to honor International Women's Day. Prof. (Dr) Seema Naz, the college's Principal, commenced the celebration with a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of women’s rights and empowerment.

Prof. Naz advocated for the necessity of providing women with platforms to achieve their aspirations and emphasized the crucial role both genders play in amplifying women's voices. Meanwhile, Advocate Syed Junaid Saadat, Chairman of White Globe NGO, discussed the various challenges and struggles faced by women in daily life and across different phases.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman of the Aryan Group of Colleges, lauded the achievements of Jammu & Kashmir's students, particularly their enthusiasm in academics and extracurricular activities, including notable achievements like setting records in the Boat Race and launching the Online Aryans Shikara registration portal.

The celebration was further enriched by Mehmeet Syed, a singer, who highlighted women's empowerment through her music, delighting the audience with a Kashmiri song. The event also featured a Mushaira, a traditional poetry session, organized by UNS where Dr. Nighat Farooq Nazar and other renowned female poets recited verses celebrating Women’s Day.

The climax of the event was the felicitation ceremony where about 50 women achievers were honored. Prof. (Dr) Seema Naz, Dr. Anshu Kataria, Advocate Syed Junaid Saadat, and Advocate Sheikh Saba presented the awards, acknowledging the significant contributions of these women to society. The ceremony served not only as a tribute to their achievements but also as an inspiration for future generations.
