The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman today reviewed the arrangements put in place for the upcoming Maha Shivratri festival in a meeting held at Mini Secretariat, here. The meeting discussed various arrangements put in place for Maha Shivratri, including water supply, power supply, cleanliness and sanitation, security arrangements and Medicare facilities, etc.

Representative from local Kashmiri pandit community, M. K Koul apprised the DC that by and large, adequate arrangements are already in place and also mentioned some other demands related to the Maha Shivratri festival.

The DC, on the occasion, directed the concerned heads of various departments to make all necessary arrangements in advance to avoid any inconvenience. He directed the Executive Officers of MC Bandipora and MC Sumbal to ensure proper sanitation around the temples regularly, particularly on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.

He also instructed Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti and PDD to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply. The DC emphasized the collective efforts of all stakeholders to facilitate a spiritually enriching Maha Shivratri celebration.

The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police, Shafat Mohammad; CPO Bandipora, M Maqbool; Tehsildar Bandipora, Assistant Director FSC&CA, Executive Engineers of various Departments, representatives from Kashmiri Pandit community and other concerned.
