The Chandigarh unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized a candle march in Maloya on Wednesday, protesting against alleged rigging in the mayoral election held on January 30th. AAP leaders and workers raised slogans condemning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of electoral malpractice and dubbing them as 'vote chor' (vote thieves).
The AAP leaders expressed grave concerns over what they deemed as an attack on democracy and the constitution by the BJP. They alleged that the BJP consistently resorts to vote rigging to win elections, and this time, their alleged malpractice was caught on camera when a presiding officer was reportedly found tampering with ballot papers.
Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia, co-in-charge of AAP Chandigarh, reiterated the party's commitment to safeguarding democracy. He stated that fair elections are the cornerstone of democracy, but the BJP's actions undermine the entire electoral process.
Dr. Ahluwalia warned that the people of the country would not tolerate such dictatorial practices and vowed that the AAP would continue to fight until the nation is liberated from the clutches of the BJP.The candle march served as a symbolic gesture of the AAP's determination to uphold democratic principles and expose any attempts to subvert the electoral process.

ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (ਆਪ) ਦੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਇਕਾਈ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਲੋਆ ਵਿਖੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਮੇਅਰ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਂਦਲੀ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕੈਂਡਲ ਮਾਰਚ ਕੱਢਿਆ। ‘ਆਪ’ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ‘ਵੋਟ ਚੋਰ’ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਹਰ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਿੱਤਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਜਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਫਾਰਮੂਲਾ ਕੈਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਜ਼ਾਈਡਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਬੈਲਟ ਪੇਪਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਛੇੜਛਾੜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਫੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
'ਆਪ' ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸਹਿ-ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ ਸੰਨੀ ਆਹਲੂਵਾਲੀਆ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਰਾ ਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਰਗੀ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਆਪ ਆਗੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਲੜਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਨਾਸ਼ਾਹ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਚੁੰਗਲ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ।

आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) की चंडीगढ़ इकाई ने 30 जनवरी को चंडीगढ़ मेयर चुनाव में धांधली के खिलाफ बुधवार को मलोया में कैंडल मार्च निकाला। आप नेताओं ने भारतीय जनता पार्टी को 'वोट चोर' पार्टी बताया और कहा कि भाजपा लोकतंत्र और संविधान के खिलाफ हैं। वह हर चुनाव वोट चुराकर जीतती है और इस बार उनकी वोट की चोरी कैमरे में रिकॉर्ड हो गयी जब उनके पीठासीन अधिकारी को रंगे हाथों मतपत्रों के साथ छेड़छाड़ करते हुए पकड़ा गया।
कैंडल मार्च के दौरान आप चंडीगढ़ के सह-प्रभारी डॉ. सनी अहलूवालिया ने कहा कि हम अपने लोकतंत्र को बचाने के लिए लड़ रहे हैं। देश में निष्पक्ष चुनाव हो, यह हर राजनीतिक दल की जिम्मेदारी है, लेकिन भाजपा पूरी चुनाव प्रक्रिया को खत्म करने का काम कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि देश की जनता भाजपा जैसी तानाशाही पार्टी को कभी बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगी। आगामी आम चुनावों में उन्हें हार का सामना करना पड़ेगा। आप नेता ने कहा कि वे तब तक लड़ते रहेंगे जब तक देश को तानाशाह भाजपा के चंगुल से मुक्त नहीं करा लेते।
