Today, the Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh organized a press conference and displayed a video on a big screen to bring to light the murder of democracy committed by BJP's nominated councilor Anil Masih (Sitting Officer) and councilors in the elections of Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, and Deputy Mayor of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation held on January 30.
The conference was addressed by Dr. S.S. Ahluwalia, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board Chairman and co-incharge AAP Chandigarh. Senior leaders of AAP including Meena Sharma, Abha Bansal, and councilors Kuldeep Kumar, Jasvir Singh Ladi, Damanpreet Singh, Ramchandra Yadav, Prem Lata, Manovar, Suman Sharma, Jasvinder Kaur, Neha Musavat, and Yogesh Dhingra were also present.
Dr. S.S. Ahluwalia, while showing the video of the election day on January 30, said that the video clearly shows that on that day, 20 votes went to the joint candidate of AAP and Congress, Kuldeep Kumar, and 16 votes went to BJP.
Anil Masih, the secretary of BJP's minority cell, a nominated councilor, and a sitting officer, deliberately canceled 8 votes cast in favor of Kuldeep Kumar by using a pen, which was captured on camera.He further said that in the municipal elections, BJP has committed the murder of democracy under a complete conspiracy.
BJP councilors Kanwarjeet Rana, nominated councilor Satinder Sidhu, councilors Harjeet Singh, Kuljeet Sandhu, nominated councilor Amit Jindal, councilor Jasmanprit Singh, former mayor Anup Gupta, nominated councilor Dr. Ramnik Bedi, nominated councilor Naresh Panchal, and other BJP councilors forcibly removed the cameras filming Anil Masih so that his dark deeds are not captured on camera.
But unfortunately, the cameras started working again after some time, and the 8 votes canceled by Anil Masih were captured on camera. He further said that the Hon'ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has also made extremely strict comments on Anil Masih and said that democracy has been murdered in the Chandigarh mayoral elections, which Anil Masih has committed. It cannot be tolerated in any way. The Hon'ble Supreme Court has said that a case should be filed against Anil Masih so that such actions cannot be repeated.
He said that now everything is in front of the people through the cameras. There is considerable anger among the people towards BJP. People demand that the forcibly installed mayor of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation by BJP should be removed. He said that the people of Chandigarh will never forgive BJP, and they will be punished for the murder of democracy committed by BJP.
