SWD’s 3 day awareness program under Mission Vatsalya concludes

The three day awareness program organised by Social Welfare Department under Mission Vatsalya regarding implementation of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) of Children Act, 2015 and provisions of Mission Vatsalya scheme concluded here today.

The event, held under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Mamta Rajput, aimed to enlighten the stakeholders about the schemes under Mission Vatsalya including working of CWC, JJB, children in street situation, child rights, adoption regulations, sponsorship, working of Childline, child care institution and related programs for children.

Earlier, the program was inaugurated by Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, who stressed upon the significance of such trainings in creating awareness and fostering a collective approach among various stakeholders. She emphasised the need and importance of collective efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within the community.Around 750 participants were covered in these three days including PRIs, Judiciary, Police Officials, Principals, Teachers, Anganwadi Workers, Asha Workers, officials from various departments, volunteers and students.

The trainees were trained and educated on Mission Vatsalya guidelines, early detection of disabilities in young children, adoption, Juvenile Justice Act, role of Child Welfare Committees and child rights by Resource Persons Dr Anupa Sharma (Program Manager, UT Adoption Resource Agency), Shalini Sharma (member of JJB), Sakshi Bali (member of CWC), Pallavi Sharma (Central Administrator, One Stop Centre for Women) and Advocate Mohammad Aleem Beig.
