For the second day in a row, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a hunger strike outside the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, alleging irregularities and BJP interference in the recent mayoral elections on January 30th.

Key Points:

Hunger Strike Leaders: Councilor Damanpreet Singh, senior leaders Meena Sharma, Sukhraj Sandhu, Manmohan Pathak, and Desraj Sanawar.

Joined by: Chairman and Co-incharge of AAP Chandigarh Dr. SS Ahluwalia, senior leaders Abha Bansal and Vikram Pundhir, councilors, volunteers, and supporters.

Demands: Investigation into the dismissal of eight votes from AAP's mayoral candidate, action against officials accused of tampering.

Accusations: AAP claims "democratic murder" and "hooliganism" by BJP during the elections.

Police Intervention: A scuffle with police led to the detention of some protesters at Sector 39 police station.

Continuation: AAP vows to continue hunger strike and organize a candle march tomorrow demanding justice.
