National Lok Adalat and 5219 number of cases were settled with an amount of Rs. 22,40,92,987.

In order to ensure speedy and hastle free dispensation of justice under the directions of NALSA and Punjab State Legal Services Authority, National LokAdalat was held in Sessions Division Fatehgarh Sahib and Sub Division Amloh and Khamanon. 

Sh. Arun Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Service Authority informed that besides the matrimonial cases, cases under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, compoundable criminal cases, civil cases, motor accident claim cases, traffic challans were taken in the National LokAdalat and 5219number of cases were settled with an amount of Rs. 22,40,92,987/-. 

In addition it is also stated that in Permanent LokAdaltFatehgarh Sahib there are 18 services rated to public utility in which settlement is done between the parties. The Permanent LokAdalt works daily. Today around 900 caseare settled in Permanent LokAdalt.

Peace and harmony was restored with the efforts of LokAdalat when a seven estranged couples were reunited. Six complaints of 138 Negotiable Instrument Act   were settled for the amount of Rs. 65 Lacs between two close friends. An old lady was overwhelmed by emotional touch of Judicial Officer who settled the matter between two old ladies of same Village.
