The teaser reveals how rival Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower prepare their armies for battle after the horrific events of the first season. Rhaenyra declares, "There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin," but her aunt Rhaenys corrects her, saying, "No war so bloody as a war between dragons." What happened in season 1 of House of Dragon?
Aemond Targaryen draws first blood in season 1, episode 10, killing Rhaenyra's son Lucerys Velaryon and ultimately initiating the Dance. Along with co-creator Ryan Condal, Miguel Sapochnik, a veteran of Game of Thrones, served as the showrunner for the first season of House of the Dragons. Condal will take over as the showrunner for the second season, with Sapochnik remaining the show's executive producer. Another seasoned Game of Thrones veteran, Alan Taylor, will also be joining the program as an executive producer and director for the second season.
