Babila Rakwal has taken on her new role as the Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir. The official transition occurred at the State Health Society in Nagrota, where she presided over an introductory meeting with NHM officials from J&K.

During the meeting, Rakwal emphasized the importance of unwavering dedication and devotion among NHM staff to ensure the full realization of the Mission's objectives. She underlined that the NHM's overarching goal is to achieve universal access to equitable, affordable, and quality healthcare services that are responsive to the needs of the people.

National Health Mission encompasses a wide spectrum of health-related endeavors, including strengthening the healthcare system in both rural and urban areas. Special emphasis is placed on areas like Reproductive-Maternal-Neonatal-Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) and addressing both Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases.

Following the introductory meeting, Mission Director Rakwal paid a visit to the 104 Centralized Health Helpline located in Nagrota, Jammu. This helpline operates under the J&K National Health Mission in collaboration with the private sector (PPP mode).

During her visit, Rakwal reviewed the range of services offered by the call center, which includes preliminary medical advice provided by skilled healthcare professionals. The call center also provides counseling services related to mental health, chronic diseases, psychological distress, early childhood development, and grievance redressal.

As part of her assessment, Rakwal sought feedback from the general public and field functionaries, such as Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), regarding various National Health Mission programs, including AB-PMJAY Sehat.

Impressed by the functioning of the 104 Centralized Health Helpline, Babila Rakwal issued directives to further strengthen the services offered to the public. Her leadership aims to ensure that the common people receive better healthcare services through this essential facility.
