As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, the District Administration Jammu on Saturday organised an interactive session with Auditors and the Drawing and Disbursing Officers of the district here in  the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner Office. The session was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sandeep Seointra and attended by around 100 officers.

The objective of the session was to create awareness about the importance of preventive vigilance and transparency in public service delivery. The session also discussed the various forms of corruption and malpractices that affect the functioning of the government departments and the measures to curb them.

The participants vowed to follow the principles of honesty, integrity and accountability in their working and to report the instances of corruption or unethical conduct to the concerned authorities. The ADC said that the District Administration was committed to ensure a corruption-free and efficient administration in the district and to providing quality services to the people.

Assistant Commissioner General, Manisha, who was also present at the session, said that the Auditors and the DDOs were the key functionaries in the financial management of the government funds and they had a great responsibility to ensure that the funds were utilised properly and effectively. 

She said that the Auditors and the DDOs should adhere to the rules and regulations and maintain proper records and documentation of the transactions.The session was followed by a question and answer session, where the Auditors and the DDOs raised their queries and doubts and received clarifications. The session was also attended by other officers and staff of the district administration.
