Haryana's exports surge to Rs 2,45,453 crore in 9 years of BJP stint: Khattar

Underscoring the substantial positive transformation and advancements, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said the past nine years has seen the state's exports surging from Rs 68,032 crore in 2014 to an impressive Rs 2,45,453 crore in 2022-23.

Sharing a range of accomplishments during the stint of the BJP government in the state, the Chief Minister told the media here the government in the past nine years has focused on economic growth, industrial development, and the overall well-being of its residents.

He said Haryana has attracted investments of Rs 18,422 crore, leading to the establishment of 1,59,622 MSMEs. This substantial industrial expansion has concurrently generated employment opportunities for approximately 12.60 lakh individuals.

The Chief Minister said the government has laid an emphasis on enhancing the standard of living for the people. This encompassed initiatives in education, healthcare, security, self-sufficiency, empowerment, self-esteem, and equal opportunities.

Divulging details about infrastructure advancements, the government has been actively engaged in advancing infrastructure development. Notable projects include the construction of an Integrated Multi Modal Logistics Hub in Narnaul with an outlay of $700 million and the establishment of industries in IMT Kharkhoda Sonipat, in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki.

"Haryana has actively participated in national initiatives like the PM Gati Shakti Yojana and the establishment of a Medical Device Park in Panipat, along with a Bulk Drugs Park in Hisar. The government has taken measures to provide traders with various benefits and facilities, including insurance coverage against losses due to fire and burglary under the Mukhya Mantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Yojana as well as personal accident insurance for registered traders," said Khattar.

He said today, every district is connected by a national highway. At present the work of eight highways is complete and 12 are in progress. "To ease the traffic around Delhi, Kundli-Manesar-Palwal and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressways were built and the traffic on them continues smoothly. Ambala Kotputli Greenfield Corridor completed at Rs 10,646 crore," he said.

The Chief Minister said the construction work of the country's first elevated railway line has been completed in Rohtak and work on the same project has started in Kurukshetra.A survey is being conducted for the elevated line in Kaithal. Construction work on 62 railway overbridges and underground bridges at a cost of Rs 2,577 crore has been completed and work on 50 bridges is in progress.

Metro service has started from the YMCA Chowk to Ballabhgarh, Bahadurgarh-Mundka (Delhi), Badarpur-Mujesar (YMCA Chowk) and Sikandarpur station to Sector 56.The Chief Minister said e-ticketing has been introduced in public road transport services. A five per cent rebate will also be given on recharging to promote this. Besides, CCTV cameras have been installed at all bus terminals in the state.

The Chief Minister said the government has prioritised the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure.In 2014, the state had one medical university, but this number has now risen to two. Similarly, the count of medical colleges has surged from six in 2014 to 15, and the MBBS seats have increased from 700 to 2,185.

Moreover, the number of postgraduate seats in medical colleges has grown from 289 to 1,006, he said.He said an online transfer policy has been implemented for the convenience of teachers, which is also being adopted by other states in the country.

Besides, the state has seen growth in the number of universities from 43 in 2014 to 56, government colleges from 105 to 182, and government model senior secondary Sanskriti schools from 13 to 147.

"These initiatives reflect the government's unwavering commitment to improving healthcare services, skill development, and education to provide employment opportunities and enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Haryana," he said.

For farmers, the Chief Minister said due to natural disasters, the compensation per acre which was Rs 10,000 in 2014 has been increased to Rs 15,000 per acre by the government."The government stands shoulder to shoulder with farmers, providing a substantial compensation of Rs 11,000 crore for crop damage due to natural calamities, whereas in the previous government’s tenure only Rs 1,158 crore were given to the farmers," he said.

In addition to this, Haryana became the first state in the country to procure 14 crops at a minimum support price (MSP). He said under the Bhavantar Bharpiee Yojana, Rs 750 crore was deposited into the accounts of bajra growing and horticulture farmers.
