The Indian Institute of Architects, Patiala centre celebrated World Architecture Day on Saturday, 30-09-2023. World architecture day is celebrated worldwide every year on 1st Monday of October. Which falls on 2nd October this year. Its being celebrated by all the centres of Indian Institute of Architects from 30th Sept to 2nd October. In this series, Patiala centre celebrated it today. More than 25 architects attended this special programme. The theme of the event was Heritage Architecture. It started with the tour of the Heritage buildings of the city like Mahendra kothi, Neemrana Hotel, Rajendra Kothi, Dhruv Pandove cricket stadium, Circuit house, Rajendra Gymkhana Club etc.
After the Heritage tour, Open House Discussion on the topic of Heritage Architecture was done by the architects of Patiala.IIA Punjab chapter Chairman, Ar. Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia opened the Discussion with his opening remarks about the various activities being done by the Indian Institute of Architects through out India this year. He explained the importance of our Heritage and culture.IIA Patiala Chairman Ar. Rajinder Singh Sandhu talked about the world architecture day, its theme adopted by IIA head office, which is Heritage Architecture. He explained to all rhe Architects present over there about all the Heritage buildings visited in Heritage tour.
Ar. Indu Arora spoke about the basic principles of design by using which we can make a connection of our soul with soul of the building. Ar. Gurbachan Singh Rehsi congratulated all the architects for organising such a programme. Ar. Sukhpreet Kaur Channi and Ar. Gunjot kaur also expressed their views about the topic of the day. All the architects participated in the discussions enthusiastically and actively which made this event a successful one. Ar. Rakesh Arora, jt. Hon. Secretary, IIA patiala, concluded the meeting by thanking all the architects present over there. The meeting was attended by Ar. Dr. Munish Sharma Ar. Mohan Singh, Ar. Gian Chand Aggarwal, Ar. Arsheen Kaur, Ms. Rohinni Sandhu, Ar. Sarabjit Singh, Mr. Kamal Thind Ms. Noordeep Kaur, Ms. Jasleen Kaur and few more.
