The 7 Days Special-NSS Camp which started on 18th Sept concluded successfully today at Government College of Education, Sector 20D, Chandigarh. The program functions under the motto “Not me but you” in full spirit.

The event was inaugurated by esteemed Ms. Bhawna Garg, IAS, Deputy Director General (DDG), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sector-17, Chandigarh and Dr. Nemi Chand, NSS State Liaison Officer, Department of Education, U.T. Chandigarh. Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal of the college and Dr. Ravneet Chawla, Incharge NSS cell Facilitated the inaugural on 18th September 2023.

The theme of the 7 Days NSS Special Camp program was “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan”- the Subtheme was -Saying Yes!+ to Life. During the 7 Days Special NSS Camp, eminent resource persons addressed the students on diverse fields like sensitization and activities based on Swacchta, personality development, employment registration and employability skills, preparing for a career and POCSO Act.

The camp had Self Defence Training module every morning and the Yes!+ program under the Art of living and UT Chandigarh collaboration, in the afternoons addressed by Ms. Paulomi Mukharjee, Er. Santosh Sharma, Mukta Nijjar and Gurvinder Singh.

The Yes+! Program helped students to enhance and strengthen leadership skills, intellectual thinking and to overcome stress and anxiety to be a better version of oneself. The activities under Yes!+ sessions included Mind matrix, Wisdom sessions on happiness, Sudarshan Kriya, Secret of Peace Building and relationships.

The volunteers also extended their services by participating enthusiastically in different community related activities. In the A blood donation drive Dr. Ravneet Chawala and 7 Volunteers donated 8 units of Blood at the PGIMER, Chandigarh. College NSS Newsletter was released on the occasion. The program aims to instil a sense of responsibility, compassion, and empathy in the students, which will benefit them both personally and professionally.

The NSS Program Officer Dr. Ravneet Chawla is being awarded State NSS Award of Best NSS Program Officer for the year 2022-23 by Chandigarh NSS Cell, Education Department, Chandigarh Administration, U.T. Chandigarh today, on the occasion of NSS Day. The organizers and program officers, who prepared the layout of the program, were Dr. Ravneet Chawla and Mr. Ravinder Kumar.
