Secretary in Rural Development Department & Panchayat Raj, Tariq Ahmad Zargar today visited Kupwara district and inspected Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) works and Amritsarovars. This visit is part of mechanism introduced by Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, wherein all Heads of the department have been tasked to visit blocks of allotted districts and inspect the works executed under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).

During the visit, Tariq Zargar visited Nutnoosa and Hirri Qadaribad blocks of district. In Nutnoosa block, Secretary paid visit to Kandi A and Kandi B Panchayats where he inspected SBM assets and other initiatives including segregation sheds, community and individual compost pits, community and individual soakage pits, community sanitary complexes.

Zargar also visited Amrit Sarovar at Kandi and checked inlets, outlets and beautification of Amrit Sarovars. Later, Tariq Zargar visited Hiri Qadirabad Block and inspected SBM projects at Hiri A and Hiri B. He visited Amrit Sarovar at Gulgam.

He inspected SBM (G) works including Segregation Sheds, Community Sanitary Complexes, Community Soakage Pits, Individual Soakage Pits and Vermi- Compost Units at this block. On the occasion, the local inhabitants and PRIs of interacted with the officer who appreciated the pace and quality of works executed.

Secretary was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Kupwara, Hilal Ahmad Mir; EXen REW Shafat Hussan; BDC chairperson Nutnoosa, Asifa, BDO and other officers, PRIs and officials during the visit.
