The Department of School Education in Poonch came alive with vibrant celebrations as it marked Teachers' Day, commemorated on the eve of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary, the second President of India.The Natu Auditorium in Poonch witnessed a gathering of educators, students, and officials who came together to honor the invaluable contributions of teachers to society.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M Choudhary graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Senior Superintendent of Police, Vinay Kumar Sharma, was the guest of honor. The event was kicked off with a warm welcome address by N.M Suri, District Education and Planning Officer (DEPO).
The highlight of the celebration was the captivating cultural performances and skits presented by the teachers centered around the themes of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020) and "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao," campaign -reflecting the critical issues faced by society.
In a gesture of appreciation, 21 teachers were felicitated for their meritorious services in the field of education. The dedication and commitment of these educators stood out, showcasing their unwavering commitment to shaping the future of the students.
Adding to the prestige of the occasion, Principal S Jaswant Singh of DIET Poonch received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. This recognition underscored his outstanding contribution to the education sector, inspiring countless individuals along the way.
Additionally, two members of the District Resource Group, Darshan Kumar and Harish Kumar Sharma, were honored for their remarkable contributions for the successful implementation of various departmental initiatives in Poonch district.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary (IAS) congratulated the teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between departments at the grassroots level. He highlighted the significance of implementing various initiatives for the betterment of education.
