The Directorate of Tourism Jammu commemorated the 77th Independence Day with a resplendent ceremony at Tourist Reception Centre Jammu displaying patriotism and celebrating unity of our great nation.The festivities commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the Tricolor by the Director Tourism Jammu, Vivekanand Rai who was joined by Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta.

The ceremony marked by resounding and spirited chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram,' as officials of the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu and Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation embarked on a special vibrant ‘Tiranga Rally’ towards Ragunath bazar which culminated at the Bazaar Chowk.

This fervent procession, led by the Director Tourism and his team of senior officers adorning colours of National Flag and proudly carrying the Tricolor in their hands, meandered its way through the Residency Road and Veer Marg area fulfill the  atmosphere with energetic vibes of Nationalism and Patriotism.

The Tiranga Rally was a harmonious collaboration with the Raghunath Bazar Association and was joined by IRP personnel along with general public.Sweets, symbolic of the confectionery of unity, were exchanged, thereby symbolizing the blending of diverse flavors within the tapestry of our nation. 

The resonant singing of National Anthem gracefully reverberated through the air, encapsulating the very soul of our shared identity and forging an indomitable spirit of camaraderie.On this patriotic occasion, Director Tourism Jammu delivered an inspiring address reflecting the significance of Independence Day and also enumerated the unwavering dedication of the Directorate to uphold the ideals and values enshrined in our Constitution.

Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta stressed that this pious day serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers and is the guiding force for all our future generations to follow and imbibe the shared values of our great Nation’s Freedom struggle and its essence along with laying emphasis on our collective responsibilities that we hold towards building a better tomorrow.

The ceremony was also graced by Dr. Umesh Shan Deputy Director Tourism Jammu, Abdul Jabbar Deputy Director Tourism Publicity, Sugandhi Banotra, Assistant Director Tourism Jammu and other officials of the Department. Flag hoisting was held by the Directorate of Tourism Jammu across Jammu region including Tourist Reception Centre Katra, Tourist Office Batote and Tourist Office Rajouri along with other tourist areas of the Jammu Division.
