One day District level awareness camp organised for Sheep breeders

A One Day District Level Awareness camp for sheep breeders was today organised here in the District Sheep Husbandry Office Complex Udhampur. Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Joginder Singh Jasrotia  was the chief guest at the camp held under the component “Awareness Campaign/Information Dissemination and Publicity” under UT capex Budget 2023-24.

More than 250 Sheep, Goat Farmers, Members of Farmer Producers Organization (FPO), Self Help Group (SHG) members and breeders from every Nook and Corner of District Udhampur participated in the camp.

The Sheep Farmers were educated regarding latest Sheep Husbandry technologies, practices and employment generation schemes through lectures, banners and demonstration and distribution of print material.

On the occasion, 106 beneficiaries were selected for the establishment of Sheep/Goat units under Integrated Sheep Development Scheme-Subsidy and Participatory mode and establishment of shearing units.

District Sheep Husbandry Officer Dr. Farhat Bashir, Sheep and Wool Development Officer Ramnagar Dr. Gurjeet Singh and all Veterinary Assistant Surgeons of Intensive Sheep Development Block besides interested beneficiaries were present on the occasion. The participants were also provided pamphlets and other publicity materials and refreshment during the camp.
