Vigilance Bureau Nabs 3 Officers In Three Different Traps In Punjab

The Vigilance Bureau (VB), Punjab, in its anti-corruption campaign, today laid 3 traps in different parts of the Punjab and caught the culprits red-handed with the bribe money.Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said that the first traps was laid by Vigilance Unit, Gurdaspur team at Batala, where JE Kulwinder Singh was nabbed red-handed with the bribe money of Rs.15,000. Kulwinder Singh, who was posted as JE at PowerCom North Batala was demanding illegal gratification of Rs.15,000 from Mr. Pargat Singh, the complainant, of Village Khan Fatta (Tehsil-Batala) to install already approved transformer in his fields.

In second such incident, the team of Bathinda Vigilance Bureau Unit caught Veer Chand, Accountant, Market Committee, Kotakpura, red-handed with the bribe money of Rs.10,000. He was nabbed on the complaint of Mr. Raj Kumar of Factory Road, Surgapuri, Kotakpura, who alleged that Veer Chand was demanding Rs.20,000 to verify K-one form and the deal was matured for Rs.10,000.Similarly, the Vigilance Unit, Moga nabbed Chhinder Singh, Dairy Development Inspector posted at Dairy Development Office, Moga at Village Gill red-handed with bribe money Rs.8,000. In his complaint, Mr. Sadhu Singh of Village Thathi Bhai (Baghapurana) alleged that Inspector Chhinder Singh was demanding Rs,20,000 as illegal gratification to clear the objection on his file pertaining to subsidy of Insurance policy of cows.
