The state government is fully committed for the welfare of the orphan children and is ensuring to provide them with the necessary infrastructure and other facilities for their overall development. This was stated by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil here today while chairing a State Level Committee formed under Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Kosh.

He said that it was the government's one of the first decision to adopt these children as "Children of the State", and since then 'Mukhya Mantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana' and 'Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Kosh' have been started for the welfare of these children.

The minister directed the officials to ensure smooth functioning of the scheme and to ensure that every eligible child benefits from it.He said that providing free of cost education, skill development opportunities, career counseling, marriage grant, financial assistance for building houses and other perks will help these children to pursue fruitful tasks in life which in turn will benefit the society at large.

Secretary, Social Justice & Empowerment, M. Sudha Devi, Director Women and Child Development, Rupali Thakur, Director Higher Education, Dr. Amarjeet K. Sharma, Special Secretary Technical Education, Sandeep Kumar, Director, Empowerment of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities and Specially Abled, Pradeep Kumar, Additional Director Women and Child Development, Mohan Dutt and Additional Secretary Finance, Vinay Kumar were also present in the meeting amongst others.
