Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 launched at Ganderbal

2701 beneficiaries of 0-5 year age group, 398 pregnant women to be vaccinated during campaign

Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 campaign was today launched in district Ganderbal by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah during a function held at District Hospital Ganderbal.

The main objective of Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 is to identify and vaccinate all left-out and drop-out children under 5 years of age and pregnant women thereby to strengthening and sustaining routine immunization.

This campaign will further help in eliminating Measles Rubella in the country. There are three rounds to be conducted in this campaign- one each in August, September and October 2023. Round-I 7th to 12th Aug-2023, Round-II 11th to 16th Sept-2023 and Round-III 9th -14th Oct-2023.

The ADC stressed that routine immunization session plan should not be disturbed, and additional sessions should be planned in high risk areas not covered by route immunization during the campaign.

On the occasion, the ADC was informed that in Round-I that has commenced today, 714 beneficiaries of 0-5 age and 142 pregnant women will be vaccinated in 169 sessions for six consecutive days in the district.Furthermore, it was informed that 2701 beneficiaries of the 0-5 year age group and 398 pregnant women will be vaccinated in all the three rounds of IMI-5.0 campaign.
