Working under the commitment of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the all-round development of children, the implementation of various schemes is being ensured. Under the direction of Social Security, Women, and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, the Department of Social Security, Women, and Child Development conducted a training on "Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi" at the NIPCCD Regional Centre Mohali to enhance education and nutrition in Anganwadi centres.

This state-level monitoring and training program has been initiated to enhance the capacity of Anganwadi workers and Child Development Project Officers. The program will be held from August 7 to September 12 in the state.

The training aims to provide opportunities for the holistic development of young children, empower Anganwadi workers, and ensure adequate nutrition and studies for children and adolescent girls. As per the National Education Policy 2020, the scheme incorporates the goals of this policy by proposing the training of existing Anganwadi workers to create a cadre of high-quality ECCE teachers.

The Director of Social Security, Women, and Child Development Department, Mrs. Madhvi Kataria, said that the main objective of this training is to implement the Poshan tracker application. She said that the training curriculum covers several topics, including early childhood education, health and training practices, maternal care, growth monitoring, and the importance of a balanced diet.

CDPOs will receive additional training in program management and monitoring, enabling them to efficiently monitor the functioning of Anganwadi Centres. Child Development Project Officers, Supervisors, Block and District Coordinators, and Advisors were present on this occasion.
