Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney today congratulated the exceptionally talented young cricketer Kanika Ahuja for her selection in the Indian women's cricket squad for the upcoming Asian Games to be held in China.

A prominent player of the Women's Premier League representing RCB, Kanika Ahuja, the daughter of Surinder Kumar, is also the captain of the Punjab women's cricket team. She has been receiving coaching since 2013 from Kamal Sandhu at the Cricket Hub Academy in Patiala.

The Deputy Commissioner extended heartfelt congratulations to Kanika Ahuja, while meeting at her office here, and said that her selection in the Indian cricket squad is a matter of immense pride for Patiala city, the Punjab and the entire nation. Conveying her best wishes to Kanika Ahuja for all her future endeavors, the DC expressed confidence in her abilities to excel in the international arena.

Ms. Sawhney remarked, "Kanika Ahuja's achievements are a testament to her hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent. "I am confident that she will make the nation proud in the Asian Games. May Team India bring home the gold laurels for our country," said the Deputy Commissioner.

She said that the entire city of Patiala, the state of Punjab, and India are eagerly looking forward to Kanika Ahuja's performance in the Asian Games and extend their wholehearted support. Her success will serve as an inspiration for budding cricketers and showcases the immense talent that thrives within our community.
