BJP President J.P. Nadda on Monday accused the Congress of propagating negativity about the economic condition of the country. He claimed that India’s current economic growth has reached 8.10 per cent, while the inflation rate stands at 2.5 per cent.

Nadda, who arrived in Bhopal on Monday evening, addressed a gathering of party workers at the Motilal Nehru stadium. He said: “The Congress often raisess the issue of inflation, but the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has witnessed tremendous growth in the past nine years.”

“Congress people do not study the economic reports about India. They only propagate negativity. But, I would like to tell you, America’s inflation rate is 4.5 per cent, while India’s inflation rate stands at 2.5 per cent,” Nadda said.

Nadda arrived in Bhopal for a day's visit before Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled visit to poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. During his visit to Bhopal, Modi will address a rally at the Motilal Nehru stadium, besides flagging off two semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express trains from Madhya Pradesh.

More than 3,000 BJP workers from across the country have reached to Bhopal, and they will have an interactive session with the PM on Tuesday. Addressing the party workers, Nadda said: “We as BJP workers are proud to have a leader like PM Modi, who has been accepted as a strong leader globally.

Under his leadership, India witnessed tremendous growth in various sectors in the past nine years.” Nadda also claimed that various reports have suggested that India’s poverty rate has decreased from 22 per cent to 9 per cent, while the extreme poverty of the country has gone below 1 per cent in the past nine years.

“PM Modi will be addressing you tomorrow for ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’. You all have to ensure that his message reaches every house in the next one month,” Nadda said.
