Punjab Waqf Board issued financial assistance of 7.80 lakhs to the mosques of Amritsar, 6-6 thousand ad for new mosques

Legitimate problems of the Muslim community will be solved on the basis of initiative, reserving graveyards and development of mosques will be the main priority

Funds have been released by the Punjab Waqf Board for the development of different mosques on a large scale in the last 6 months. In the last five months, financial assistance of Rs 7.80 lakh has been given to different mosques of Amritsar Zone, due to which new development works of mosques have been completed and the work of rehabilitating those mosques which were deteriorating has been completed. 

Nadeem Ahmed Khan, Estate Officer, Punjab Waqf Board Amritsar said that for the last few months continuous development works of mosques have been completed in district Amritsar. 2.80 lakh to the mosque of village Jethuwal, Amritsar, 1.50 lakh to Jama Masjid Fatehabad Tehsil Khadursahib district Tarn Taran, 1.50 lakh to Jama Masjid Sathiala Tehsil Baba Bakala, 50 thousand to Masjid village Thattian in Tehsil Baba Bakala, 50 thousand to Masjid Khalifa Raza-e-Mustafa Jallianwala Bagh Amritsar has been given financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh. 

Apart from this, there was an accident case in the last months in which a person was seriously injured and he was given charity assistance of Rs.50,000. He told that in the year 2022-23, a revenue of 5.55 crores was collected, this time this target has been increased to 15 crores, to fulfill which all the employees are working.

Administrator MF Farooqui IPS said that our main goal is to reserve the cemetery and take care of the mosques. Funds are being released continuously for this. He said that if the Muslim community is facing any problem regarding the cemetery, then they can contact the Estate Officer of the concerned district, besides this, they can also take help for the development of mosques as per the rules. 

He told that in the coming days many big works will be done for the Muslim community in the big districts of the state. 4 different new mosques of Amritsar, in which Masjid village Jethuwal, Masjid Khajurwali, Masjid Khalifa Raza-e-Mustafa, Masjid Sikri, Hamza Masjid have been issued monthly aid of 6 thousand each. 

Apart from this, Muazzim have been appointed in two mosques. A 4 kanal 6 marle graveyard in Muddal village near Verka has been given to the Muslim community.
