Union Power Minister, R.K. Singh and Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over a meeting with senior officers of Army and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) 17th Battalion, at Reckong Peo in district Kinnaur, late Thursday evening.

The officers gave a detailed presentation regarding Northern border areas. Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur, Torul S. Raveesh also gave a detailed presentation on Vibrant Village Programme being implemented in District Kinnaur and Lahual-Spiti. She also apprised the dignitaries of various opportunities and challenges faced in both the districts. 

Revenue Minister, Jagat Singh Negi, Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Ram Subhag Singh and Political Advisor to CM Sunil Sharma were also present in the meeting. Union Power Minister and Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing progress of Shongtong Karcham Hydro Electricity Project 450 mega watt at Shongtong.

Later, R.K. Singh and Chief Minister were accorded warm welcome at rest house Kalpa by the local panchayat representatives.
