Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan today visited Suigwari area and participated in a tree plantation drive conducted to mark the World Environment Day. The event was organized by the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in collaboration with the Police Department.

 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and NHIDCL officers were also present.The primary objective of the drive was to bolster the green cover in Doda and foster a sustainable environment for future generations.

During the plantation drive, numerous saplings were planted, symbolizing the unwavering commitment of the participants towards nurturing and safeguarding nature.  The initiative aimed to create a more ecologically balanced region. Deputy Commissioner personally supervised the execution of the project and assessed the effectiveness of the measures implemented.

In addition to overseeing the tree plantation, Deputy Commissioner Doda engaged in discussions with relevant authorities regarding public safety. Concerns regarding potential mishaps were addressed and measures to prevent them were evaluated. 

Emphasizing the well-being of commuters, the DC directed the NHIDCL authorities to prioritize widening of stretches prone to accidents. Furthermore, he urged for immediate installation of crash barriers and milestones to ensure the safety of travelers.

By this impactful tree plantation drive and active engagement with concerned authorities, the Deputy Commissioner demonstrated his commitment towards fostering a greener and safer environment in Doda.
