Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ab Hamid Zargar today launched the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF-2023) here in a programme held at ANMT School and organized by District Health Society Doda. Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight will continue till 17th June 2023.

The programme was attended by the students of ANMT, Principal ANMT Doda besides health staff of the department.The CMO delivered the keynote address at the orientation programme and said that childhood diarrhoea is among the major killers of 0-5 years old children in India and most of the victims are children from poor socio economic families.

He said that the ultimate aim of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight 2023 is to achieve zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea.He also explained about various activities to be performed during the IDCF establishment of ORS Zinc Comer in all health facilities.

Medical Officer, Dr Javed Ahmed Parray, as the Resource Person thoroughly explained about the cause of diarrhoea among the children.He also explained about the precautionary measures and interventions and preparation of ORS at home and its uses.

Similar activities were held in all Medical Blocks as a part of observing IDCF, where the activities during the programme included hand washing demonstration in schools, outreach areas and distribution of ORS and Zinc Tablets.
