Speaking about the advertisement, Starbucks shared a new video in which we can see that the ad is somehow promoting ‘sex change’ as an elderly people can be seen waiting in Starbucks for their son Arpit. The father looks upset while the mother remains calm and also calms him down. But then a girl arrives who hugs them and sits next to them. The ad then takes a turn and reveals that they were actually waiting for their transgender daughter for the first time after many years of her sex change. The father then goes and orders for coffee after which the Starbucks barista says, “Three cold coffees for Arpita” which indicates the support of her father. Then comes the emotional moment in which her father accepts her and her decision and says that you are still my kid only, it's just the addition of an extra alphabet to your name.
