Chairman District Development Council, Udhampur Lal Chand today inaugurated one-day Job Fair cum Awareness programme here at District Employment & Counseling Centre Omarah Morh.
In presence of Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson, District Development Council, Pinky Devi, Member DDC Lathi Marothi & Ghan Shyam Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner were also present at the inaugural function.
The Job Fair witnessed the participation of Narayana Hospital (SMVD), Hotel Association Katra, HDFC Bank, LIC of India, SBI Life, M/S Star Health & Allied Insurance Co Ltd., FIL Industries Bari Brahmana Jammu & Paytm, - providing a common platform for job seekers and job providers (private sector).
Over 300 un-employed youth from different corners of district Udhampur and few un-employed Youth from Ramban District also participated in the Job Fair. As many as 85 Job Seekers were short listed by the participating companies.
Anshuman Singh, Deputy Director Employment Udhampur impressed upon the youth to avail the opportunity of Job Fair & reap the benefit of the different self-employment schemes including Mission Youth Schemes viz: MUMKIN/Spurring/Tejaswini/SAHAYT.
Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director Employment briefed about the conditions and nature of jobs being provided to the un-employed youth in the private sector. Meanwhile, 64 un-employed youth were registered on JK Employment & NCS portal. The Career Counselor Officer also conducted career counselling sessions during the one-day job fair.
