Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting to discuss the preparations for the forthcoming festivals of Ed-ul-Fitr and Parshuram Jayanti.The meeting was attended by officials from various departments, including the police, municipal committees and representatives of the civil society.

During the meeting, the DC said that these festivals should be celebrated peacefully and with due respect to the religious sentiments of all communities.The officials discussed various arrangements that needed to be made, including security arrangements, traffic management, fire tender, medical facilities and the provision of essential services such as water and electricity during the festivals.

The DC also urged the officials to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are put in place well in time.The meeting decided to form a committee to oversee the preparations for the festivals and to monitor the implementation of various initiatives. 

The DC instructed the officials to work closely with the representatives of the Muslim and Hindu communities to ensure that the festivals were celebrated in a spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood.
