To spread awareness among the general public of the District about Jal Jeevan Mission "Har Ghar Nal Se Jal," Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna flagged off a Prachar Rath in presence of SE and Executive Engineer Jal Shakti department.
While briefing the media persons, the DC said that the prachar Rath carries a message to create public awareness about the Jal Jeevan Mission and other related activities among the people of the District.
The DC informed that the Parchar Rath will create awareness among the general public about different components of JJM, Water testing role of pani samitis and water conservation.The DC added that the Prachar Rath will cover Udhampur, Ramnagar and Chenani Sub Division to inform people about the JJM schemes launched by the Prime Minister of India to provide safe drinking water to each household with the theme "Har Ghar Nal Se Jal ".
The SE apprised the DC that of the total of 159 schemes sanctioned under Jal Jeevan Mission for Udhampur District, work on 73 schemes is going on so far. He said that the tendering process of 153 schemes have been completed.
He further elaborated that the work on most of the taken up schemes is in progress and every effort is being made by the department to complete the schemes in the district within given time line.
