DDC Chairperson Ramban reviews progress on development works, discusses District Capex Plan 2023-24

Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban Shamshad Shan today chaired a meeting of sectoral officers here to review the status of developmental projects undertaken in the district besides discussing the District Capex Plan 2023-24.

 DDC members and Chairpersons of Block Development Councils besides Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajinder Sharma, CPO Dr. Kasturi Lal and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the status of work of the upcoming projects of RDD, R&B, PMGSY, PHE, JPDCL and other Departments was reviewed thoroughly.After a comprehensive discussion, the officers briefed the chair about the current status of developmental activities undertaken in the district by their concerned departments.

The Chairperson impressed that plan formulation is essential for planned development of the district and exhorted the DDC members to carry out a detailed gap analysis to identify works of community benefit.

All Departments were asked to share the list of ongoing and upcoming projects to be taken up during the financial year   and also progress reports with the DDC.It was also reiterated that DDC members & other public representatives be taken on board both during the planning as well as the implementation phase of the projects for better outcomes.

The DDC Chairperson strongly recommended that Gram Sabha must be conducted in each Panchayat to discuss and finalize the Plan Proposals under all the sectors and implementation of the schemes on ground.

She said that overall development keeping in view welfare of all the people particularly from the vulnerable sections should be the driver for identifying works.The ADDC assured full support of the administration and said that coordination between PRIs and administration, besides interdepartmental coordination is critical for smooth execution of development works.
