To discuss the arrangements for Navratras, Ramzan & POJK, the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna today convened a meeting of officers  and prominent citizens of the District here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

President Municipal Council, Dr Jogeshwar Gupta, Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar, ADDC Ghan Shyam Singh, ADC Mohammad Syed Khan, ACR, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, CPO, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar, ACD, Ranjeet Kotwal and other officer besides prominent citizens attended the meeting.

Threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements related to security, Safe drinking water, Power supply, First-aid, sanitation, checking of rates,   Repair of street lights, Illumination of various chowks, Lifting of garbage, Deployment of police personnel, Traffic congestion in the town etc discussed in detail.

Necessary directions were issued to district heads to ensure fool-proof arrangements pertaining to their respective department during the festival. DC stressed upon the Police Department to make sufficient security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during the festive season.

CMO was asked to deploy a health team along with an ambulance for providing necessary health facilities. Xen PHE was asked to ensure regular supply of drinking water besides Xen PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival.

Stressing on maintaining cleanliness in the town, the DC directed the CEO MC to take necessary steps in this regard and also sought the cooperation of prominent citizens in keeping the town Neat and clean.

Keeping in view the festive season, a committee comprising Tehsildar, Assistant Director FCS & CA, CEO Municipality and Food Safety Officer was constituted to conduct market inspection to keep check on overcharging by the shopkeepers. General public is advised to park their vehicles on earmarked parking & avoid parking on road side.

Meanwhile, the shopkeepers were also asked to display the rate list of all the essential commodities for the information of the general public. Further, the Traffic department was directed to deploy an adequate number of traffic personnel at traffic jam prone areas to avoid any traffic congestion during the festival.

A meeting to discuss and review arrangements for Hon'ble Lieutenant governor's special governance camp  for displaced persons of PoJK -SSS  campaign was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur at Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.

The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure all arrangements pertaining to their respective departments well in advance and in an effective manner for smooth conduct of the camp.In this regard, the DC informed that the Lieutenant Governor’s Special Governance Camp for displaced persons of PoJK is scheduled to be held on March 19, 2023 in Udhampur district.

DC emphasized the need for proper coordination among the various departments involved in the organization of the camp. DC added that  Honourable Lieutenant Governor’s Special Governance Camp is an important initiative of the government, aimed at ensuring saturation of all the services to the displaced persons of PoJK.

CEO MC, Tehsildar and Police department were asked to keep in touch with all the POJK families and  ensure their participation in the camp.
