DSWO Kulgam celebrates International Womens Day

To celebrate International Women’s day, the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO) Kulgam through its wing District Hub for District Empowerment of Women (DHEW) today organized a grand event at Dak Bungalow Chawalgam, here.

The event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat. ACR Mir Imtiyaz ul Aziz, DSWO Snober Altaf, Professors from different colleges along with students, DMC DHEW, officials from OSC, Labour department, DECC, CCI attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the contribution of women towards the development of society and said that women are contributing in every field and have proven their mettle in all spheres of life including in administration, social, economic, political, educational and judicial fronts.

He also added that the role of women is pivotal in the development of society. District Social Welfare Officer on the occasion briefed participants about several women centric schemes.  

She also highlighted endeavors of administration which have been taken to promote Women Empowerment. Later, a felicitation function was held during which women from different walks of life were felicitated for their exemplary performance and immense contribution in different fields.
