National Service Scheme (NSS) unit Government Degree College Neeli Nallah on Monday organised a seminar on domestic Violence and drug addiction here on the college campus.

Prof Hans Raj, Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.  Pallvi Rajput SI, Women Police Station Udhampur,  Azra Khan, Social Worker, Special Cell for Women and Devika Sharma, Drug counselor District  Udhampur were the speakers.

The seminar started with deliberation by SI Pallvi Rajput. She spoke on various kinds of addictions and drug abuse along with information on the system of drugs used and cyber crimes arising from it. 

She also aware the students regarding the rehabilitation centers in order to have treatment and finally to get rid of the addiction. Azra Khan, Social Worker, highlighted physical and mental violence faced by women and their rights and duties.

Devika Sharma, Drug counsellor , talked about the hormonal imbalance that gets created as a result of drug abuse leading to a problem in decision making behavioural changes and other physiological as well as psychological symptoms.

Dr. Radha Rani, NSS PO was the overall organizer of the event. Others who attended the seminar were Prof. Swati Dutt, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, Dr. Ranjeeta Langeh. The vote of thanks was presented by  Manisha Kanchru, Lectt. EVS.
