Prominent actor ‘Vicky Kaushal’ is known well for his work in Hindi cinema. He gained popularity through his role as a military officer in the 2019 war film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. He is married to actress Katrina Kaif. He has proved himself as a very good actor through his commendable work in his films.
Vicky Kaushal is all set to play the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Laxman Utekar next film. The director confirmed and said that Vicky is the perfect choice for this historical role. Laxman Utekar said, “His personality, like his height and physique matches that of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He is also a fabulous performer. We didn’t do any look test, I was sure that he is the one who can play Sambhaji”. Adding to this he said, “He will train for four months in sword fighting, horse riding and a few other things. And once we are satisfied, we will start shooting.” “We have seen many films on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj but nobody knows how big a warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was, or his contribution towards the Maratha empire and to Maharashtra,” Utekar added.

The director said that the film is in pre-production stage, writing is finished and the shoot will commence in August-September. It is a very big project for Laxman and he has been working very hard on this for the past few months.
The duo has also worked together in a romantic comedy film which is going to be released in April 2023. This movie will also be starring Sara Ali Khan. People like the chemistry that Vicky and Sara share on screen. Vicky has already played real-life inspired roles in the films Sanju, Raazi, Uri: The Surgical Strike,and Sardar Udham. Talking about his upcoming films , Vicky will be seen in the movie ‘Sam Bahadur’ which is also inspired by real life events and is scheduled to release in cinemas on 1 December 2023. He was last seen in his film ‘Govinda Naam Mera’ which was released on 16 December 2022.
