The Punjab Government has directed the District Education officer to ensure complete infrastructure in all the Government Schools of the Punjab.In a statement issued here today the Punjab Education Minister Mr. Sikandar Singh Maluka said that state Government was committed to provide basic amenities together with quality education in all the government schools. He has also asked the authorities concerned to identify all dilapidated and unsafe class rooms and buildings so that it could be repaired or demolished as per the norm laid down to avoid any untoward incident. He has sought a report of such buildings within 15 days so that necessary action could be taken in this regard.Minister further said that required funds would be released for the construction of new class rooms or separate toilets for the girls in all the school at the earliest. Adding asked the officers to follow the guidelines in both later and spirit. Any negligence on the part of officers concerned would not be tolerated and strict action would be initiated against the erring officers.
