The Three Day training programme on School Readiness Module for Children With Special Needs (CwSN) organised by Inclusive and Special Education (Liaison cell) concluded today  at SCERT Jammu.

The programme was formally inaugurated by H.R.Pakhroo worthy Joint Director JKSCERT Jammu. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized on the need and significance of Inclusive and Equitable Education as per NEP 2020.

He further urged all the DNOs of Inclusive and Special Education at DIETS of Jammu Division to work in union to bring children with special needs also in the mainstream of Education. 

Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz, Joint Director, Central Move Office also spoke on the occasion. Others who shared their ideas on the occasion were Swaran Singh Jaral, Professor, Surjeet Singh, Professor and Dr. Neeraj Jandial, Associate Professor SCERT Jammu. 

Associate Professors namely  N.P. Singh, Pawan Kumar,  Kishore Kumar, Romi Kumar and Dr. Sanjeevani Sharma, Assistant Professor SCERT were also present on the occasion. Participants from all the 10 districts of Jammu Division attended this programme.

Many interesting and enriching sessions were deliberated by adept resource persons on topics like Early Identification and Intervention of CwSN as per the provision of RTE Act 2009 and RPWD Act 2016, Inclusive Education/Involvement of Parents and Community in Preparing CwSN for Schools, Visual /Hearing impairment, Understanding children with special needs with activities and Physical and other disabilities. 

The resource persons in this programme were Dr,Zahoor Ahmad,Dr Arshad Ahmad Salroo,  Rukhsar Ahmad,  Bilal Ahmad,  Tariq Manzoor Khan from Kashmir Division and Neha Kalra (RP,SRML Jammu).

The Programme culminated with the feedback of the participants wherein they expressed their gratitude and said that they gained a lot from the knowledge and experience of the resource persons. 

This Programme was coordinated by Sushil Hitaishi, Liaison Officer Inclusive and Special Education. He was assisted by Yogesh Kumar, Academic Officer SCERT Jammu. Other members of the team were Academic Officers of SCERT Jammu namely Deepak Kumar, Amit Kumar Bhagat, Manisha Chun, Bindia Balwal, Shazia Kousar and Meena Thakur. 

The valedictory function was graced with the presence of H. R. Pakhroo, Joint Director SCERT Jammu. He stressed on inculcating human values in teachers as well as children. 

He pointed out that a teacher will have to perform the role of guardian and employ new pedagogies to promote inclusive education in the classroom.Later, Dr. Neeraj Jandial, Associate Professor, SCERT Jammu presented vote of thanks.
