The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Manzoor Hussain today visited Block Hermain of Shopian, listened to scores of public issues and demands at the weekly Block Diwas programme.
During the public outreach programme, PRI members and general public of adjoining panchayats raised several issues related to road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, installation of electric poles etc.
The ADDC listened to the demands and issues patiently raised during the block diwas programme and assured that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner within the stipulated time frame.
He exhorted the general public and their representatives to work in tandem with the line departments for effective execution and monitoring of the schemes. While interacting with the PRIs and general public of the area, the ADDC said that such platforms enable the District Administration to know the problems being faced by the people.
He asked the officers to inform the people about income generating and beneficiary oriented schemes launched by the Government of India and UT Government. During the programme, the people of the area were also given awareness about Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision, which is currently underway.
Among others, Block Development Officer, Hermain; Horticulture Development Officer, Shopian and a large number of people and PRI members of Panchayat Hermain were present.
