The weekly Block Diwas was today held at Naidkhai Block of Bandipora District. Chairman District Development Council Bandipora, Ab Gani Bhat and ADDC Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan presided over the event and listened to the people for redressal of their issues and grievances.

The programme was attended by SDM Sumbal Amir Choudhary, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Tehsildar Hajin, BMO Hajin and officers of various line departments besides witnessing overwhelming participation of the public.

Public delegations and PRI members put forth several demands regarding augmentation of water supply through JJM schemes, Electricity, Bridges, macadamization, PMAY, Drainage system, irrigation and other issues of public importance.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DDC asked the general public to coordinate with elected representatives for early redressal of issues and grievances. He said coordination of PRIs, public and officers is essential for percolating the benefits of various schemes at grassroots level.

ADDC Bandipora after patiently listening to the grievances and issues of public passed on spot directions for redressal of various issues and  said that all the left out grievances shall be taken up with the concerned on priority.

He directed the officers to resolve genuine issues of public in a time bound manner. The ADDC also asked officers for intensive awareness of Government schemes so that the public can avail maximum benefit from the same.

Khan urged the public and PRIs to work shoulder to shoulder for grass roots implementation of Government schemes and programmes.
