NSS units of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma, organised a series of activities on the day 2 of the NSS Annual Winter Special Camp 2023. 

The cmap is being held  under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The morning session began with drill practice, assembly and NSS song by the campers. It was followed by a yoga session organised in collaboration with AYUSH, Udhampur segment.

Going by the head count, 101 volunteers attended the session conducted by  Sunil Bougle, Yoga Therapist, AYUSH, Udhampur. He demonstrated in detail the Asans and also informed the volunteers about the significance of doing the same; including yoga Nidra and laugh therapy.

In the afternoon session a visit to the adopted village, Rathian-East whereby volunteers were divided in groups and engaged in a door to door campaign in the households of the area. Volunteers, divided in 12 groups, visited around 60 households of the villages Mansote and Blaiy falling under panchayat Rathian. 

The focus of awareness was on the theme of the camp, which is Lifestyle for Environment - life. Volunteers advised the village folk to adopt a lifestyle which is supportive to conserve the environment so as to ensure resources and rights to the future generation. 

In the evening session, a brainstorming session was organised whereby the talent spectrum of the volunteers was analysed and evaluated to segregate them on the basis of their skills and hobbies. The day ended with the recitation of the national anthem.
