The Sheep Husbandry Department Bandipora on Saturday organised an awareness camp for sheep breeders at panchayat complex Kehnusa. The event witnessed participation of a large number of progressive sheep farmers,  aspiring entrepreneurs, PRIs and members of Razdan Farmer producer organization(FPO). 

Speaking on the occasion, the experts stressed upon the need for strengthening of  FPOs  for the collective good of the whole farming  community. The Department has been mobilising  small marginal sheep farmers of the district in the form of FPOs for  better service delivery and effective interventions. 

Dr Sofi Abid  VAS, Aloosa briefed the audience about various income generation schemes, skill development  initiatives of the department, importance of UID tagging and subsidised livestock insurance under NLM scheme.

The event concluded with the distribution of seed kits of high yielding fodder Rye grass among the participating farmers.
