Department of Science and Technology Udhampur, in Collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School Garhi organised a One Day Awareness Programme on the theme "Biotechnology and Its Application".

The function was inaugurated by Shruti Khanna, District Coordinator, J&K Science Technology Innovation Council, Udhampur. Principal of the School, Ajay Vashist welcomed the presiding officer and resource persons Dr. Jasmeet Kour Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology and Asma Javaid Assistant Professor, Department of Botany from GDC Udhampur.

Dr. Jasmeet Kour, through a Power Point Presentation, educated the students about the Biotechnology and its application in everyday life. “The technology involves the use of living organisms to develop products for benefit of mankind,” she said. 

Asma Javaid, in her Power Point Presentation, threw light on the Transgenic Plants and their application in Genetic Engineering. The Stage Secretary was Dr. Madhvi Kohli. The vote of thanks was presented by Principal of the school. The students were benefitted by the programme.
