Rajkumar Santoshi is a well-Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is observed as one of the most successful filmmakers in the Hindi film industry, he has received several prizes, including three National Film accolades and six Filmfare Awards.
Rajkumar made his directorial debut with the crime film Ghayal (1990), which won him the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment as well as the Filmfare Award for Best Director. Santoshi also received praise for directing the comedy Andaz Apna Apna (1994), which though a box office flop has attained cult status, and the major box-office hit Barsaat (1995), which marked the film debut of Bobby Deol and Twinkle Khanna.
He followed it by directing two moderate commercial successes-the biopics “The Legend of Bhagat Singh” (2002) and the action thriller Khakee (2004)-both of which earned him Best Director nominations at the Filmfare. Santoshi's highest-grossing film release came in 2009 with the romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, in which he also appeared in a cameo role.

After completing nine years of spending out of the industry, the director is again going to make his grand comeback in the Hindi cinema, again with a reality-based event movie. It has been informed by the official social media account of Taran Adrash, a film analyst. The motion poster of the announcement of Santoshi's comeback is being shared by him on the internet with the caption “RAJKUMAR SANTOSHI RETURNS WITH ’GANDHI - GODSE EK YUDH’… #RajkumarSantoshi - known for path breaking films such as #Ghayal, #Damini, #Ghatak, #AndazApnaApna, #AjabPremKiGhazabKahani and #TheLegendOfBhagatSingh - returns to the director’s chair with #GandhiGodseEkYudh. After giving so many hits and real-based naturalistic drama to the audience he is coming back again with the movie to entertain them.

The film will depict the extremely opposite ideologies of two-person that is Mahatma Gandhi and Nathuram Godse, who belong to different groups at that time. The film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and the music will be given by AR Rahman and produced by Manila Santoshi. It will release in cinemas On 26th January 2023. No further details have been shared by them.
