The cadets of first J&K GIRLS BATTALION NCC SRINAGAR of Government College for Women, Udhampur, on Tuesday took out a Swachhta rally under the aegis of ‘My Town My Pride’.  The rally was conducted under the patronage of the College Principal Dr. Monika Sharma to educate people about ‘Swachchta’.

The College Principal flagged off the rally. She addressed the cadets on the various health benefits of keeping surroundings clean. She stressed on students to shoulder the responsibility of keeping their surroundings clean. 

The cadets were motivated to give their best in the rally.  Other faculty members of the college Dr. Seema Sharma, HOD Music; Prof Ashni, HOD Botany; Dr. Kewal Kumar, Assistant Professor of Botany; Prof. Yash Kumar, Assistant Professor of Music and Arti Gupta teaching Assistant of Music were also present there.

Around 45 NCC cadets participated in the rally with great  enthusiasm to spread the message of cleanliness. Holding placards with  different slogans like ‘We want clean India Green India', ‘Keep your surroundings Clean’, ‘Make the Earth Green’ they passed through different parts of the area. 

They also raised the slogans to spread the message of cleanliness like” Modiji ka ek hi sapna, Swachch Bharat desh ho apna ”, “Jan Jan ki hai yehi Pukar-Swachch rahe apna Sansar'', “Gandhiji ka yehi sandesh, swachh rahe apna yeh desh,” “Clean India, Green India'', etc..

The college faculty members also participated in the rally to guide  and support the cadets. I/C ANO, Shallu Jasrotia coordinated the event.
