‘My Town My Pride’ progm concludes at Udhampur

The government public interface programme 'My Town My Pride' today concluded in the district with visiting officers reaching the people at their doorsteps amid massive response from ULB members and local people.

On second day of the programme, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Alok Kumar, visited Government Girls High School, Udhampur, where he inaugurated District Level 30th children Science Congress exhibition and Youth awareness campaign on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.

During the exhibition, students participated and showcased their science models. Principal Secretary along with Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur  had round of the exhibition to inspect the models exhibited by the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary congratulated the students and applauded the efforts of the teachers for their support and guidance. He impressed upon the need to boost and promote scientific temper and understanding among the students. 

He wished them good luck for their future endeavours. Principal Secretary highlighted the harmful effects of drug addiction and urged upon the students to stay away from this evil and focus on future plans and career opportunities in order to excel in academics and sports. 

He emphasized on adopting a healthy lifestyle which will ultimately evolve a healthier society. Principal Secretary also visited Shaheed Inspector Kamal Singh Government Model Higher Secondary School Boys Udhampur.

A mega Cultural Programme was organized by Education department in which students of different schools presented scintillating performances on the second day of my town my pride 2.0 programme.

Principal Secretary said that the objective of this MTMP programme is to see the implementation and impact of government schemes on ground besides empowerment of Urban Local Bodies. He said that UT administration is committed to fulfill all the demands of public on priority. 

He added that My town My pride is a unique programme of UT administration with the efforts of public, government and administration for resolution of demands of public. Later, Principal Secretary convened a meeting of officers of line departments to review the sector wise progress on Capex Budget, CSS and other flagship schemes.

District Development Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna, SSP, Dr Vinod Kumar, ADDC, Ghan Shyam Singh, ADC, Mohammad Syed Khan, ACR, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, CPO, Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar and other district heads of various departments attended the meeting.

Principal Secretary  took extensive  review of various flagship programmes, financial progress under District capex budget 2021-22 and 2022-23, physical progress under district capex budget 2021-22 and 2022-23, beneficiary oriented schemes, Aadhaar seeding, National Rural Livelihood Mission, National Urban livelihood mission, Agriculture sector, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, Sericulture, Horticulture, FCS& CA Industries department, Health and other sector etc.

District heads of various departments apprised the Principal Secretary of the status of different schemes taken up by their respective departments and their status as on date. Principal Secretary directed the concerned departments to mobilize their men and machinery for effective implementation of all schemes and coverage of 100% eligible beneficiaries under all schemes.

Similarly, at Ramnagar and Chenani a series of activities was carried out during the second day of MTMP with visiting officers listening to public grievances.
