Mayor Jammu today chaired an Interactive session here in the Conference Hall of JMC with the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation and Line Departments about the promotion of Corruption Free India campaign.Addressing the meeting, the Mayor said “All of us are aware of the need for a nation to be free of corruption, especially in this fast progressing era of technology and online payments. 

The need for a corruption-free India is essential for the country to develop and progress. India has been plagued by corruption for centuries, and it has become an entrenched part of society.” 

He noted with concern that Corruption only breeds more corruption and that is blatantly visible in our modern day India where one can be seen giving bribes in a corner for some reason or the other. “India faces the problem of corruption at various levels. This problem is eating our country internally” he said.

The  Mayor, Jammu stressed upon to curb the menace of corruption from the society and said “The need of the hour is that every officer, staff member and every citizen shall make this a mass movement and shall work with coordinated efforts to bring a pragmatic change in the society”. 

He said everyone should participate wholeheartedly to eliminate corruption from society. He further said that corruption is the main obstacle in development   and it is ruining our country. It is time for each one of us to realize the negative impact of corruption on our country and contribute our bit to make it corruption-free.

Another interactive session was held with the   line departments whereat the Mayor briefed the officers about Pad Yatra (Tramp) being organised by  JMC on Dec 9,  2022 at 10:30 AM on the call given by Prime Minister, Sh  Narendra Modi from Red Fort on 15th August for  Corruption Free India.

“The historical Pad Yatra being held  under the banner of Jammu Municipal Corporation, will witness participation of students from different schools ,colleges, universities,  Traders organizations, Chamber of Commerce and  social organizations’ he said .
