The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Manzoor Hussain today visited Kapren block of the district and presided over a Block Diwas programme. Speaking on the occasion, ADDC said that the main objective of the programme is to mitigate the issues and grievances of the people at their doorsteps.

He directed field functionaries of different departments to maintain close coordination with PRIs to ensure prompt delivery of essential services. He also issued directions to the concerned officers for timely redressal of genuine demands and grievances.

ADDC said PRI members have a very important role in identifying the works besides formulating and implementing the plans as per the local needs so that works of public importance would be done to facilitate the general masses of the district.

The people of adjacent areas of Kapren put forth their issues and demands of public importance which include uninterrupted power supply, portable water facility, repairs of lanes and bylanes, road connectivity and other demands.

ADDC heard them patiently and assured that all their genuine demands will be considered and resolved within the stipulated time frame. Among others, the programme was attended by officers and officials of line departments, PRIs besides prominent citizens of the area.
