Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Saturday organised a special function at its Pampore Campus to celebrate Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India.
This year the Constitution Day is being celebrated on November 26 on the subject – ‘India- the Mother of Democracy.’Director JKEDI, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat chaired the function and offered tributes to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution.
He emphasized the greatness of the Indian Constitution and how it gives equal opportunity in life to all citizens of India. The Constitution is not merely a document but a great vision with an aim of welfare and betterment of citizens.
The Director also encouraged the audience that every individual should try to protect the sovereignty of our country by following the constitution in the right spirit. Everyone must read different aspects of the Constitution and understand its various dimensions.
As part of the celebration of Constitution Day, a pledge ceremony to uphold and abide by the Constitution in true spirit was also held. The Preamble to the Constitution was also read out and all the employees took the pledge to upload the fundamental duties of the Constitution bestowed upon them.
The Constitution Day was also celebrated across the various district offices of JKEDI wherein the District Nodal Officers and faculty members of the Institute spoke about various aspects of the constitution and recalled the limitless contribution of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in the creation of the Indian constitution and stressed the importance of knowing and celebrating our country’s achievements and history.
