The District level Kala Utsav 2022-23 competition was today organized at SIKS GHSS Boys Udhampur among the winners of the Zonal Level contest held earlier.After the formal announcement of the start of Kala Utsav by the Directorate of SAMAGRA Shiksha Department, Jammu and Kashmir and Directorate of School Education, Jammu, the competition has reached at district level after inter-school and Zonal level rounds of the competition.

In Udhampur, the event was organized under the guidance of  Arvin Kumar Koul,  Chief Education Officer, who was also the special Guest of the Programme along with ACD Udhampur, Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal and DYSSO Udhampur, Swaran Singh. The program was hosted by SIKS GHSS Boys Udhampur.

The special guests extended their best wishes to the students participating in the contest. They encouraged the escort teachers who came with students to put in extra efforts to nurture the hidden talent in them.

DICC, Rakesh Singh and all ZICCs and School Nodal Officers  prepared the students in all ten different cultural categories.The role of jury members was very crucial during the entire event. Sunita Tikoo and Randeep Kour acted as Jury members for Dance and solo acting, Rakesh Kumar and Amit Kumar, Sr. Cultural Assistants of Department of Information, Udhampur for Instrumental and Vocal-Music and Rakesh Singh DICC and Neeru Mahajan Sr. Lecturer for Indigenous toys, 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional.

Department of Information, Udhampur provided the Public Address System for the smooth conduct of the program.All ZICCs, Cultural Ambassadors also contributed towards the successful conduct of the program.

Pawan Sharma, NCC incharge took over as the technical expert.  Rinku Khana, ZICC and Jyoti played the role of stage secretary. The Kala Utsav competition is being organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy and Ministry of Education (Government of India) under SAMAGARA Shiksha for the 9th to 12th class students to further groom the artistic talent in them. 

The festival is organized separately for boys and girls in 10 categories at the district level after passing through the Zonal level.
